The TBI Crime Data statistics show violent crime decreased overall across the state last year.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has released it’s Crime Data in Tennessee and overall it appears serious crime decreased across the state last year. Murder was down 19.25 percent, rape was down almost 4 percent, kidnapping and abduction was down 3.18 percent. Crimes against persons, was down almost 1 percent, crimes against property was down 12.13 percent and crimes against society was down 4.53 percent. The 2024 data, after being extensively audited, was extracted on June 20, 2025, and compiled into this years report that was released last week.
