Winchester Police are crediting the SAINT automated license plate reader and quick response by Tullahoma Police for the apprehension of a car thief. About 12:30 yesterday afternoon a Ford F-350 pickup was reported stolen from the parking lot of Home Depot in Winchester. Surveillance video shows the suspect pulled up in a Honda coupe, which turned out to have been stolen in Chattanooga, then he stole the pick up. The automated license plate reader alerted that the stolen vehicle was in Tullahoma. Tullahoma police found the vehicle and a short chase ensued before the suspect; Maurice Redman was apprehended. He was booked into the Coffee County jail on charges filed by Tullahoma Police and then will be transferred to Franklin County to face the vehicle theft charge there.
