An attempted routine traffic stop ended after the drive4r died in a crash in Huntsville.
A chase that started in Fayetteville ended in Huntsville with the driver dead. Fayetteville Police attempted to stop a driver about 10:30 Sunday night for driving without headlights. Lincoln County Deputies joined in the chase at Park City but the driver would not stop. Fayetteville and Lincoln County ended the chase at the state line but authorities in Alabama picked up the pursuit. The driver wrecked in the construction zone on Memorial Parkway at Mastin Lake Road about 10:52 Sunday night when the car hit a pole. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
