Lincoln County Volunteers Respond To House Fire

Fire heavily damaged a kitchen in a home in Dellrose Monday morning.

Lincoln County volunteer firefighters were called to a home in the Dellrose Community shortly before 11 o’clock Monday morning. Firefighters responded to the 1100 block of Old Elkton Pike at 10:40am Monday, to a kitchen fire. Lincoln County Fire Chief Doug Campbell said a quick response and great work by the first responding units contained the fire to the kitchen of the home, preventing it from spreading. Other units made sure the fire had not spread to the attic and ventilated the home to get smoke out as quickly as possible.  The kitchen was heavily damaged including the cabinets and appliances according to Campbell. The homeowner told firefighters a pan of grease left unattended on the stove caused the fire. Everyone escaped unhurt.
