A mobile home was heavily damaged by fire late Wednesday night.
Firefighters were called to a mobile home fire on Scagg Lane in McBurg about 11:45 Wednesday night. The first unit to arrived on the scene found thick smoke boiling from the mobile home and flames shooting out one window. Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control. Extensive fire damage was reported to the room of origin with additional fire damage to another room and smoke damage throughout. The resident told firefighters an electric wall outlet sparked then blew out with flames coming from the outlet. While not confirmed during overhaul operations a space heater was found close to the outlet. No injuries were reported. Firefighters were on the scene until about 2 o’clock Thursday morning.
