A home on Lancer Drive damaged by fire Monday afternoon.
Firefighters from Park City, Flintville and Central responded to a house fire on Lancer Drive yesterday afternoon. The call came in about 4:45. When the first units arrived on the scene they found one end of the home on fire and called for additional personnel. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze keeping it confined to the room of origin and a small portion of the attic. The family made it to safety and told firefighters there were two family pets inside. Firefighters found one of the cats alive and once outside an emergency medical responded administered oxygen to help with smoke inhalation. The second cat could not be located and is presumed to have made it safely out of the house. The family stayed with relatives overnight. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
