December 5th

A lot of Christmas kickoff events are planned for this weekend all across our area. Tonight, beginning at 5:30, The Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Department will host Bright Lights and Festive Nights at Stone Bridge Park. Ardmore’s beloved Tinsel Trail Tree lighting ceremony and festivities kicks off tonight at 5:30 at the town hall pavilion. The city of Elkton, Tennessee will also hold their 3rd Annual Magic of Christmas Tree Lighting tonight at 5 o’clock at the Elkton Fire Department.

December 6th

In the morning, Saturday December 6th have breakfast with Santa at Lincoln County High School from 8am till 11am. Tickets are available at the door for five dollars and proceeds benefit the Child Development Center.  Tomorrow from 9am until noon Fayetteville Firefighters will hold roadblocks to raise money for the 59th Annual Lincoln County Toy Drive, which will benefit hundreds of local children up to age 12.

December 7th

Walnut Grove Community Church located at 980 Walnut Grove Road in Belvidere, will be having a Christmas Program/Hanging of the Greens December 7th at 6pm.

December 13th

The Vanntown Volunteer Fire Department will hold their 2nd Annual Santa At The Firehouse, December 13th from 2 until 5 pm. The firehouse is located at 320 Vanntown Road in Flintville.

The Elora Community Center will be the site of Breakfast with Santa Saturday, December 13. The Community center is located at 5 Elora Cemetery Circle. The Petersburg Christmas Parade will be December 13th at 1p.m. hosted by Petersburg Parks and Recreation. The theme this year is a Hard Candy Christmas. Mary’s Chapel will be presenting a Holiday Gala: Night out with the Saints December 13th at 5:30. The formal event will be held at the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Museum and Civic Center on Main Avenue.

December 17th

The 3rd Annual Day of Giving at Elk river Trading Company will be Friday December 17th from 10am till 6pm at Elk river Trading Company. This year they will be collecting canned goods for Hands of Mercy, pet food and supplies for the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Humane Society and warm coats for the Community Coat rack and raising funds for all three causes.

January 1, 2026

January 1, 2026 the 5th Annual Polar Plunge will take place at 1:45 p.m. A $200 donation gets you the honor of jumping into a freezing swimming pool with as many of your friends as you can talk into it. Proceeds go to Quatina M. Wolaver Foundation of Hope to boost ovarian cancer research and spread awareness about ovarian cancer.
