A 17-year old Tennessee teen was killed Monday afternoon on the Elk River in Limestone County, Alabama.
An accident involving two personal watercraft on the Elk River in Limestone County, Alabama claimed the life of a 17-year-old Tennessee teen. Authorities with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Marine Patrol Division said the accident happened about 2 o’clock Monday afternoon on the Elk River near Wheeler Lake in Limestone County. The 17-year old youth was fatally injured when he fell from an inflatable tube being towed by a personal watercraft operated by another 17-year old juvenile also from Tennessee. Once the teen fell from the tube he was struck by another personal watercraft operated by 48-year-old Kevin Burlison of Pulaski. The 17-year-old was rushed to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Alabama Marine Police continue to investigate.
