A Fatal Shooting is Under Investigation in Giles County
At approximately 11:30 Sunday night Giles County deputies responded to a reported car crash with injuries on Interstate 65 in Giles County. When they arrived deputies determined that the crash occurred after the driver had been shot from another vehicle. Sheriff Joe Pervis said that 26-year old Sfenson Simeus of Lake Worth, Florida, and his 23-year-old sister Elda from Plainfield, Indiana were traveling southbound on Interstate 65 when he was fatally shot. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. She was transported for medical treatment and is currently listed in stable condition. Sheriff Pervis said the pair had just stopped at the Love’s Truck Stop and got gas prior to the shooting. Pervis went on to say, “This was a senseless and cowardly act of violence. The Sheriff’s Office is fully committed to identifying and apprehending the individual responsible and ensuring justice for the Simeus family.” Anyone with information related to this incident is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 931-363-3505.
