UPDATE: This morning I reported to you that Fayetteville Public Utilities was reporting a major water leak. The leak was located and repairs are underway. With the help of citizens a couple of smaller leaks have also been located and are being repaired. If you see water bubbling up out of the ground or flowing where normally there is no water call Fayetteville Public Utilities immediately.
Residents who get their water from Fayetteville Public Utilities could have low water pressure or temporary water outages due to several leaks caused by the recent frigid weather. Fayetteville Public Utility CEO Britt Dye told us this morning ,(Click audio link for complete interview) If you notice water bubbling up out of the ground or suspect a leak call Fayetteville Public Utilities at 931-433-1522. Customers are also being ask to try to conserve water as much as possible until the leaks can be repaired.
