Firefighters Battling Blaze at Meat Processing Plant in Flintville

Lincoln county and Fayetteville City firefighters on the scene of a fire at Taylor Made Meat Processing plant

update 3:45 PM Monday ::Firefighters were called to Taylor Made Meat Processing at 85 Old Highway 64 about 12:30 this afternoon. Flames and thick smoke were visible when the first fire units from Flintville arrived on the scene. They immediately requested mutual aid response with an “all call” to surrounding departments including Fayetteville along with Moore County, Huntland, and Belvidere for help. Fayetteville sent their ladder truck to help fight the fire and all requested agencies did respond according to Doug Campbell, Lincoln County Fire Chief and EMA Director. HH Lincoln Health EMS paramedics also responded to DO rehab checks on all of the firefighters due to the extreme triple digit heat. The fire was contained to the original building of origin. Campbell said individuals at the scene said they were using a smoker grill behind the building and it caught the building on fire. There were no injuries reported and Campbell praised the work of all the responding agencies for their help in quickly containing this blaze, then cooling down hot spots.

 

Lincoln County Volunteer firefighters were called to Taylor Made Meat Processing in Flintville Monday afternoon. They immediately made an "All Call" request from surrounding departments and Fayetteville City firefighters for mutual aid assistance. Old Highway 64 in Flintville is closed at this time. No other details are immediately available.
