The Tennessee drought monitor released their latest data October 1 and it has Lincoln, Moore, Franklin and Giles County in moderate drought conditions. A portion of Coffee County around Tullahoma is in extreme drought conditions. The National Weather Service in Huntsville is not predicting any rain until, possible this coming Saturday so drought conditions will not improve this week. The drought is also affecting the Elk River. The River is at it lowest level since last April. Sunday the Eldad gauge show 1.43 feet. The last time the river was this low was on April 27 of this year.
