Businesses affect by last weekends fire are slowly starting to pick up the pieces and rebuild. From the beginning we mentioned that four businesses were affected, however there actually were five business owners who lost everything. World renowned fashion designer Juan Gurerro’s studio was located in the same facility as Merchantile on Market Street and Juan lost everything as well. Friday, I began reaching out to all of the business owners to find out what their plans were for the future. I talked with Brittany Holcomb with Skin Refinery who plans to be reopened in a new location by the end of the month. Lance Bonin owner of Mercantile on Market plans to reopen but so far has not been able to find a suitable location for not only his business but also for fashion designed Juan Gurerro who had his studio in the Lance’s business. I reached out to Young Vintage and Dance Academy but have not heard back from them as of this morning. We continue to pray for these business owners and will continue to follow their progress as they rebuild their livelihoods.
